Based on Jane Austen’s novella Lady Susan, the settings are splendid, the dialogue is witty and poor but genteel women must find suitable husbands. Kate Beckinsale is outstanding as the conniving Lady Susan, who orchestrates two weddings. Australian Xavier Samuel plays Reginald, the main catch, and Emma Greenwell his sister (both above).
