Thank you, Nikki
Nikki Gemmell’s article struck a couple of chords (“I felt like I’d failed Mum at the last hurdle”, AWW,
March). When my mum passed away, I also felt I had failed her – not visited her or been patient enough. And when Nikki asked after identifying her mother’s body, “Have you ever done such a thing?”, I screamed yes. I never dreamed that I would just about carry my daughter out of the morgue after seeing her partner’s body. Thank you, Nikki, for your honesty. J. Leckey, via email.
