Acquittal stuns Wendy Whiteley

The former wife of artist Brett Whiteley has said she is stunned by a decision to exonerate two men accused of faking the late painter’s work. During criminal proceedings, Wendy (left) held fast to her belief Blue Lavender Bay and Orange Lavender Bay

(below) were fakes, declaring them “dead”. The paintings sold for a combined total of more than $3 million. A third was valued at $950,000. Peter Gant and Mohamed Siddique were cleared of all charges.
