Q: My indoor succulents have aphids. How do I get rid of them?

G. Porter, Alfords Point, NSW. A: Squish between your fingers or use an old toothbrush if the succulents are spiky. You can also use a pyrethrum-based spray – take them outside on a calm day before using. Try a holiday outdoors for your pots in dappled shade, and let the birds and hoverflies eat the pests.
