TULLY Opens MAY 10
The trailer for Charlize Theron’s new film has generated plenty of comments, “likes” and shares on social media and it’s easy to see why – it’s an observant and refreshingly honest look at motherhood, sure to strike a chord with mums and dads. From the Oscar-nominated team behind the 2007 hit Juno, Marlo (Theron) is now a mother of three and dealing with all the usual hallmarks of family life with kids – tantrums, manic school drop-offs and a messy house, all with a newborn in the mix. Enter Tully (Mackenzie Davis, far left with Theron), a cheerful, competent night nanny gifted to Marlo by her brother when it becomes painfully clear she’s hit a wall. While initially reluctant to accept the help of the 26-year-old smart, vibrant and sexy caregiver, Tully becomes like a modern-day Mary Poppins for this overworked, exhausted and frustrated mum, and the pair build a heartwarming bond. A quirky comedy with loads of heart.
