WHAT IS RETINITIS PIGMENT OSA?

-

According to Retina Australia, RP is the inflammation and discolouration of the retina, which is located at the back of the eye. The cells in the retina send electrical impulses to the brain to enable sight. When RP is present, the cells degenerate. The condition affects one in 3000 children born in Australia each year. While hereditary, it can also occur when there is no family history.
