CORRECTION AND APOLOGY TO JUDY BRUCE

In our April edition, we ran a story titled “Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull; What family means to us”. In that story, we wrote that Malcolm Turnbull’s father, Bruce Turnbull, had never remarried after Malcolm’s mother left the family home. This is incorrect. On Sept 27, 1968, Bruce Turnbull married Judy Womersley (now Bruce) - see Wedding Day photo below right. Bruce and Judy were married for 12 years and they lived, together with Malcolm, as a family from 1968 until Malcolm went to Oxford in 1978. To this day, Judy has a familial relationship with Malcolm, who has publicly referred to her as his stepmother. We unreservedly apologise to Mrs. Bruce for the error and we acknowledge that this error has caused her heartbreak, hurt and embarrassment.
