There have always been benefits from eating fish, and now there are two new key findings to add to the list. A study published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry has identified omega-3s from fish as superior to omega-3s derived from oils and plant sources such as flaxseed. The reason? Marinebased omega-3s are eight times more effective at inhibiting cancerous tumour development and growth. And, a paper published in Scientific Reports has found that there are cognitive benefits for children who eat fish at least once a week. These children tended to sleep better and have IQ scores at least four points higher compared to those who ate fish less frequently or not at all.
