The Australian Women's Weekly

EDITOR’S LETTER:

- Nicole Byers EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

from the desk of The Weekly’s Nicole Byers

Working for The Weekly provides the opportunity to meet and interview an incredible number of high-profile people, but it’s not every day that they invite you into their home to cook you breakfast with eggs they have collected from their own beloved chickens. Or offer to root around the chook pen floor in search of a rogue piece of jewellery lost in the course of the photo shoot. Such was the case when our Style Director Mattie and journalist Chrissy travelled to Olivia Newton-John’s Santa Barbara ranch to interview and photograph her for this month’s cover story.

From her genuine warmth and Aussie hospitality, to her passion for natural medicine and commitment to support those on their own cancer journey (she doesn’t believe in negative terms like “battle”), what they found was a refreshing and inspiring soul, driven by a deep desire to help and heal.

So it is with much pride that we (with your help) are supporting her mission and donating 20c from every copy of The Weekly sold this month to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.

We also caught up with the delightful Nigella Lawson during her recent stay in Melbourne (see page 34), and went on tour with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall (page 28).

I hope you enjoy the issue.
