The Australian Women's Weekly

Christmas in July party

This year’s Australian Women’ s Weekly Christmas in July events had everything guests could wish for: fine food, fruity cocktails, a festive atmosphere – and expert tips on hosting the perfect Christmas.

The Australian Women’ s Weekly and Editor-in-chief Nicole Byers recently invited readers to attend two very special Christmas in July lunches.

Held at two amazing venues – Trunk

Bar & Restaurant in Melbourne on July 19 – and Beta Bar in Sydney on July 26, the 75 excited readers and their friends were treated to a cosy, wintry celebration of food, fun and new friendships. The Australian Women’ s Weekly Food Director Fran Abdallaoui wowed everyone with her expert cocktail demonstrations and delicious threecourse Christmas menu – and provided helpful tips and tricks direct from the

Test Kitchen on hosting the perfect Christmas with friends and family.

Her fabulous fruity cocktail, a ginger and pomegranate punch, was a huge hit with the guests, who particularly loved seeing how deftly Fran handled the tricky technique of removing the seeds from fresh pomegranates!

Scott Ellis, APT’s National Sales Manager, hosted a fun-filled Q&A session on some of APT’s most popular Christmas tours to Europe and Canada, while APT staff were on hand to assist curious travellers. Then, to bring the lunches to a close, two lucky guests had their names drawn to win $500 Endota spa vouchers, and every

Australian Women’ s Weekly Christmas in July guest went home with a goodie bag with their very own copy of The Australian Women’ s Weekly ChristmasBasics – plus lasting memories of an amazing afternoon.

Fran’s fruity cocktail, a ginger and pomegranate punch, was a huge hit with the guests.
