Get woolly
The 6th day of Christmas
Imagine being able to give a warming hug to someone in need without having to leave your home. Many charitable organisations need crocheted and knitted items. The Red Cross collects trauma teddies, a Queensland group gathers crocheted goods for Brisbane’s needy and the Rockhampton Hospital accepts crocheted caps and blankets for the palliative care ward.
The Octopus for a Preemie initiative collects crocheted cotton octopi (made to speci cations from 100 per cent cotton) all over the world. The tentacles, designed to resemble umbilical cords, calm babies and reduce the risk of them pulling on their tubes and leads.
