Willa is an out-of-work journalist who with her husband, two adult children and her racist fatherin-law, moves into a house she has inherited with a history.
The former resident was hounded for supporting the “dangerous” theories of Darwin. The story flips between 1871 and 2016, as both eras struggle with change and what it means for humanity.
