ISLAND ESCAPES
After a two-year hiatus brought about by Cyclone Debbie, one of the Whitsundays’ most loved resorts, Daydream Island, will reopen its doors from April 10. Highlights of its extensive refurbishment include an enlarged Living Reef – a 200m coral lagoon wrapped around the main building that will hold more than 1.5 million litres of water and 100 species of fish and marine life – and an underwater observatory. The resort will have 277 suites with garden, pool and ocean views, and new bars and restaurants. More at daydreamisland.com
