Farewell, my love

-

JOHN KENNERLEY was the prince of Kerri-Anne’s world. Their love story started like the last act of a fairytale, with John rescuing a battered Kerri-Anne from a nearly lethal first marriage to

New York music mogul Jimmy Miller. Their love blossomed into the proverbial happy ever after.

In 1984, Kerri-Anne and John exchanged vows to love and cherish in sickness and in health at the Sydney Opera House. And that’s just what they did. After John’s shocking accident in 2016, Kerri-Anne barely left his side.

His first words, after he regained the ability to speak, were “‘I love you’, which, of course, I will always treasure,” Kerri-Anne told The Weekly.

John had slipped from a balcony and severely damaged two of his vertebra. Doctors feared there was little hope. But John fought on for three years, before passing away last month with his son Simon and Kerri-Anne by his side.

A heartbroken Kerri-Anne said: “John has faced tremendous challenges ... and with each has been extraordinarily brave ... John, you were the love of my life.”
