THE CABBAGE PATCH LADY

-

A Tasmanian green thumb became a global sensation when her cabbage patch sprouted a huge vegetable. Rosemary Norwood runs the Forest Walks Lodge and grows food for her guests. She told the ABC she didn’t set out to grow giant food. “This one looked like it was doing really well so we left it.” The giant cabbage attracted worldwide fame and was eventually turned into coleslaw. Rosemary was serving it up to her guests for two weeks. A set of rare semi-identical twins from Queensland are only the second known set of such twins in the world. They were born after a single egg was fertilised by two sperm. The “sesquizygotic” siblings are not identical or fraternal, but something in between.
