PROVING DOUGH
After mixing to a soft, sticky dough place into an oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Leave dough to prove in a warm place for about 1 hour.
KNEADING DOUGH
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
SHAPING BUNS
Divide dough into 16 portions, shape into balls, then place balls in a greased square cake pan in four rows of four. Cover, then stand in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
PIPING CROSSES
Make flour paste by combining flour, sugar and enough water to form a smooth paste. Place paste in a piping bag fitted with a plain tube, then pipe on crosses before baking.
