Felt Flower Bonnet

Little ones will love donning these clever creations at the Easter Hat Parade.

-

1 Cut the yellow and pink felt into circles of varying sizes. Cut each circle into a spiral; start by making a wide strip on the outer circle, narrowing the closer it gets to the centre. Repeat to make enough circles for your bonnet (you’ll need enough felt circles to make approximately 10 flowers in total).

2 To assemble the flowers, take the inside of the spiral and roll it in on itself. Try to keep the bottom of the felt lined up as you continue rolling. Cover the narrow end of each felt flower with hot glue and fold the end of the spiral strip down on the glue to set.

3 Cut leaf shapes out of the green felt sheet. Place a small amount of hot glue on the end of each leaf, one at a time, pinching each end slowly to create a curve.

4 Tie ribbon around base of bonnet. Secure with hot glue in several spots.

5 Use the wire cutters to cut wire from bases of the Easter egg picks.

6 Arrange felt flowers and leaves, eggs and wooden rabbits around brim of bonnet. Secure each piece with hot glue.
