About the author
Lucy Treloar was born in Malaysia while her father worked at the university, and as a child travelled the globe. “My childhood was strict but incredibly free. We ran wild through the valley landscape we lived in, picking blackberries and climbing trees with a tribe of neighbourhood children. Our times overseas were fascinating, but gave a sense of never quite belonging – an outsider perspective has been very enriching to my writing,” she says. Lucy loved writing but waited until her children were in school before she tried to get published. In 2015, debut Salt Creek won a clutch of awards.
She lives in Melbourne with her family and two “eccentric whippets”.
