COMFORT ZONES

-

. You will require a moderate level of fitness as you will be covering diverse terrain. In spring and autumn it can be very chilly at night, so bring warm clothing. . While the accommodation provided is more than adequate, this is not luxury glamping. It was wonderful to have the tents, stretcher beds, sleeping bags and night-time head torches set up for us, but that’s as far as it went (the camp site does have toilets but bring soap and sanitisers to wash your hands).

. There is no drinking water on tap at Saltwater Creek (we had to brush our teeth in the bush and rinse with the water that Cam provided for our water bottles); and while eco-showers are available, most of us decided to give it a miss given it was a short stay.

. If you can’t live without full make-up, blow-drying your hair, a long, hot shower and a strong mobile phone signal, this might not be the getaway for you. All is not lost, though. You can book to stay at the cottages at Green Cape Lighthouse, which is run by National Parks: call
