The golden child

Meet Honey Bun, a baby wombat whose entry into the world at Ballarat Wildlife Park is causing quite a stir – because unlike her mum and dad, Honey Bun’s pelt is a striking gold, the result of a rare gene. Sadly, golden wombats are rarely found in the wild as it’s believed their colour makes them easy prey.
