Basic traffic laws are too often ignored

-

THE traffic law clearly says that you must give an exit signal, that means a left-hand signal, before leaving any roundabout – even if you are going straight through the roundabout, or doing a right-hand turn on the roundabout.

Many drivers are too lazy to do this, or are just ignorant of the law.

The second most common breach of the traffic law is people doing a righthand turn into a two-lane road with their right-hand indicator correctly on, but then often with the right-hand still on, they then swing over to the incorrect lane near the kerb.

If the police enforced both of these laws correctly, they would fill their infringement books very quickly.

Is it that people are too lazy or do they just not follow the traffic laws when driving?

Many of these people are with ‘‘P’’ plates, who should know the laws, having just recently passed a driving test to get their licence.
