Rigs should be set correctly

-

CORRECTLY rigged baits can prove the difference in all forms of fishing. Garfish rigged for trolling when targeting mackerel must swim – not spin. Ensuring the bait is pulled from the nose and not the ganged hooks will help to prevent spinning baits. A weighted wog head will also assist and keep your bait a little deeper in the water column. When floating pilchard on gang hooks, either a three-hook or two-hook rig with copper wire works well. Ensure that the bait is rigged with the head into the current. Bait rigged with the tail into the current will spin, causing line twist, and not look natural in the water.
