A bit of jigging is the way to go

-

A HIGHLY successful and popular method of fishing our local wrecks is jigging. Species such as mackerel, trevally, cobia, cod and fingermark are all common catches with jigging in its various forms. Different forms of jigging work successfully, including fast retrieved metal jigs which mackerel can’t resist, to jigging soft plastics that will produce almost any species that inhabits a wreck. These methods also work well around harbour leads, pylons and structures holding bait. The secret to success with metal jigs is speed, and highspeed ratio spinning reels are a favoured option when jigging.
