NQ RULES IN NRL FOR REALITY TV STAR

-

REALITY TV stars Maddi and Lloyd Wright know a home advantage is what will get their favourite footy team over the line.

The couple from TV’s House Rules, who live in Cairns, will be cheering on the North Queensland Cowboys when they take on Cronulla Sharks at 1300 SMILES Stadium in Townsville tomorrow.

Maddi said a home game would provide the boost her team needed to make it all the way to the grand final.

“I used to work for the Cowboys knowing the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, especially the support they’re going to get because it’s a home game,’’ she said.

“I think that will give them that extra boost.

“They’re up against a tough team, but they’re at home.”

The couple sold their Townsville home, which was completely renovated on the reality show, last December and moved to Cairns to be closer to Lloyd’s family.

Maddi, who gave birth to son Carter two months ago, said she could not wait to watch the match and make it a family affair.

“I’m looking forward to propping Carter up on the couch to watch the game with us,’’ she said. “It’ll be his first match. “He’ll probably fall asleep in the first five minutes, but that’s OK – I won’t blame him for it.”

The elimination final between the North Queensland Cowboys and Cronulla Sharks will kick-off at 7.40pm in Townsville tomorrow.
