LUNCH WITH NOEL WHITTAKER
FINANCIAL wizard Noel Whittaker is set to draw a bumper crowd to the Cairns Chamber of Commerce’s October lunch.
The international best-selling author, finance and investment expert, radio broadcaster, newspaper columnist and public speaker is the guest speaker at the lunch on October 27.
Chamber chief executive Deb Hancock said Mr Whittaker was “Australia’s money management visionary”.
“Noel reaches more than eight million readers each week through his columns in major Australian newspapers, such as The Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne’s The Age, Perth’s The Sunday Times and Brisbane’s The Sunday Mail,” she said. “He is a regular contributor to magazines including Australian Doctor and Men’s Health.”
Ms Hancock said Mr Whittaker was also the author of 20 books, which have achieved sales in excess of two million copies internationally.
“In 1988, Noel was named Australian Investment Planner of the Year. In 2003, he was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in recognition of his services to the financial services industry,” she said.
“He is currently an Execu- tive in Residence with the Faculty of Business at the Queensland University of Technology, and is a committee member advising the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
“Noel is a Fellow of the Society of Certified Practising Accountants, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
“For 30 years Noel was the co-founder and director of one of the largest financial advisory companies in the country, with seven offices and more than $2 billion under management.
“He is in high demand as a motivational speaker and has addressed packed audiences in Australia and throughout the world.”
The lunch is at the Hilton Cairns hotel on October 27, from noon.
