Stud boasts top pedigree
A REPUTABLE stud on the picturesque Atherton Tableland is for sale.
The 50ha property known as “Hideaway Downs” at Peeramon, about 70km southwest of Cairns, is listed for $1.7 million.
A registered stud for the past 10 years, the land has been divided into eight watered and fully fenced paddocks.
It has built a reputation as a quality breeding Droughtmaster operation.
“This well-maintained property would be ideal for someone looking to increase their current herd of Droughtmasters or those looking to purchase a cattle-fattening block,” said selling agent Deborah Godfrey of Colliers International Cairns.
The Tablelands property comes with a 100-megalitre water licence.
Improvements include a “lovely” three-bedroom, twobathroom home, situated on a hill, which overlooks the property and allows for sweeping views of the Tablelands.
Hideaway Downs cattle have taken out many titles at Cairns and Tablelands agricultural shows, and have been sold to properties throughout Far North Queensland, with buyers attesting to their “good temperament and fertility”.
A full list of working plant and equipment is included in the sale.
Ms Godfrey recently joined Colliers International to spec- ialise in the business’ growing involvement in agribusiness operations, particularly on the Tablelands.
All property inspections are to be conducted only in the company of the marketing agent.
Interested parties are invited to call Ms Godfrey on 0408 449 808 for an information memorandum on the property.
