Chamber backs council
THE Gordonvale Chamber of Commerce strongly supports Cairns Regional Council being given management rights over the iconic Greenpatch camping ground on the banks of the Mulgrave River, close to our town centre and local businesses.
There exists an opportunity that these travellers, that have stopped at our heritage sugar town at Greenpatch, can be attracted into our town through a proposed heritage/indigenous cultural walking trail, showcasing our history, our museum, golf and bowls clubs, local businesses and a working sugar mill.
The council can tick a lot of boxes in providing economic opportunity for our town of Gordonvale in proceeding with developing a formalised short-term camping ground/walking trail project.
