HANDY TIPS

-

THE NO-BROWN APPLE

Chopping apples for the kids but they quickly go brown? Put them in a lunch bag, sprinkle salt over the pieces and give them a quick slosh with water. The salty taste is washed away but the exposure to salt keeps them fresh.

ICE CUBE TRAY SNACKS

Fill a clean empty ice cube tray with an array of snacks such as cut up strawberries, sultanas, grapes, carrots, crackers, cheese and blueberries. Your kids will love it. It’s a colourful and fun way to snack and is like the ultimate bento box.

CUPCAKE DRIP TRAY

We are in for a hot summer and hot summers mean dripping ice creams and icy poles. Make a thin slit in the base of a cupcake holder and push the icy pole stick through. All the drips will gather in the base and not all over the floor.

CHOPSTICK LESSONS

Chopsticks are tricky for little ones to use but here is a genius trick to help. Remove the spring in a peg and set it up in a pair of chopsticks. The gentle spring is the perfect aid in teaching your kids how to use them.

MAGNET YOUR CUPS

Glue magnets to the backs of your kids’ favourite cups and stick them to the fridge. This creates a reliable place where the kids will automatically know where they are and saves you on washing multiple cups.
