Reginald takes home trophy once again
FROM PAGE 17
It was another year of excitement, action and recordbreaking swims.
The day commenced with the traditional march pasts, with a notable and original performance from Phelan House, taking out the bonus 50 points with their interpretation of Rocky Balboa.
In the past, this has been an indication of what was to follow in the points tally, but sadly this was not the case for the Green Machine this time.
Throughout the early stages there was much speculation among the students about a potential Phelan sweeping victory, as the morale from their house was positive and inspiring, with some of the early races bringing them some fantastic victories and boosting their points.
However, as the day progressed, the Phelan speculation was shut down as the possibility of their victory slipped away from them.
At the conclusion of the day, Phelan’s desire for victory was spoiled big-time, coming in fourth place, with Walter in at third, Heavey coming second and Reginald carrying the trophy on its back for the third time in four years.
Notable performances in the pool included Zachary Tabuai, who broke college records in the U15 freestyle and backstroke, and Lucas Kresevic for breaking the record in the U16 freestyle and butterfly.
Congratulations also go to the age champions: Opens – Lloyd Lucey U16 – Lucas Kresevic U15 – Zac Tabuai U14 – Kye Yeabsley U13 – Martin Weiss U12 –Patrick Jones Next year is looking to be just as promising, and who knows, maybe Reginald will maintain their stronghold over the other houses, or we might see the rise of another house and the end of an era in Saints swimming.
