Salvos open 2018 appeal

-

THE Salvation Army will launch the 2018 Red Shield Appeal at Innisfail to aid the goal of raising $13.8 million across Queensland.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council Mayor John Kremastos said vulnerable citizens relied on shield programs.

“It is thanks to the selfless work of volunteers and those who generously donate funds towards the organisation that give hope to those who need it the most,” he said.

Salvation Army spokesman Major Ben Johnson says the launch is critical to helping the Red Shield Appeal get off to a strong start with pledges made on the day. It will take place at Innisfail RSL today 12pm-2pm.
