Man charged with damage counts

AN Atherton man who smashed the back window of a police car as well as committing a string of other wilful damage offences in the town’s CBD has been charged.

It will be alleged the 27year-old man was seen walking past a residence on Robert St, Atherton about 9.30pm on Tuesday, kicking things and threatening to harm a dog before making his way to Main St.

It’s alleged the man then pulled a street sign off and threw it at a business window on Robert St, causing damage.

It will further be alleged that he proceeded to the front of the police station where he picked up a bin and threw it at a police vehicle, smashing the back window.
