Trevally and queenfish have been roaming Johnstone the flats River around the mouth of the Mulgrave/Russell system and taking both poppers and live baits. Big fingermark have been hooked in the snags on live sardines. The Johnstone River has seen barramundi caught on lures to 80cms, while Maria Creek and the Tully River has produced nice barramundi along with some thumping mangrove jacks to 50cm.
