LATE billionaire Richard Pratt’s long-term mistress has been convicted over a drunken incident in which the Sydney socialite swore at police, bit an officer and assaulted a woman trying to help her.
Shari-Lea Hitchcock, who was dishevelled and stumbling in the middle of Sydney’s Oxford St in March 2016 before lashing out at an officer called to protect her, was convicted of three charges and placed on a two-year good behaviour bond.
“The officer was there doing her job and didn’t deserve to be kicked in the chest and didn’t deserve to be bitten,” magistrate Jennifer Atkinson said in the Downing Centre Local Court yesterday.
As well as biting an officer’s leg, Hitchcock tried to take a constable’s notebook and kicked her.
