Six Young Guns shots

THE Cairns Greyhound Club’s Racing Queensland Young Guns Heats will be run tonight at Cannon Park.

There are six exciting races on the card, with the first at 7pm.

Race 4 is the Wee Win Kennels RQ Young Guns Heat 1 over 410m.

This heat has a few chances with Short Cut Charly (2) for Allan Metcalfe running third at his last start in the maiden final.

Swap Me (6) for Heath Ardle won his only start on the track from box seven in 24.04 secs and will be hard to beat from here.

Yossi (8) for Robert Lound ran a good second at his last start behind Poppy Chooky and is worth an each-way bet.

Wild Wish (7) for Mate Rajan has had two runs on the track, with a third last week behind Black Amex, and is a place chance tonight.

Rockin’ Ringo (3) for Lound ran third last start behind ken- nelmate Breaker Charlie and will be a good chance if he begins well.

Race 5 is the Wongabel Kennels RQ Young Guns Heat 2 over 410m.

Trainer Emma Bryant has the short-priced favourite in this heat, with Sharhelian Star coming from the one box.

This youngster has a best time of 23.74 secs, is a good beginner and should lead this field. Just Kiss It (2) for John La Rosa had this draw last meeting, beginning fairly, and ran a good third, coming home strong behind Swap Me.

Kenna (4) for Ardle, formerly of Western Australia, has five wins under her belt.

She has mainly raced over 297m with wins and placings over the 380m.

Ethereum (7) for Lound has had two starts here, both over 544m.

Dropping back in distance, this fellow could surprise.

Westmead Warrior (6) for Andrew Wooler has had five starts on the track for two placings.
