As one of three finalists from Queensland and the sole Cairns representa­tive, she could go on to represent the region at the world championsh­ips in Paris.

“If I have even the tiniest chance to get through to the worldwide stage, it would be a complete game changer,” she said.

Ms Cook will attend the national finals in Melbourne, on February 25.
