DAINTREE TO COOKTOWN

-

Spanish mackerel have been on fire with good numbers caught around the headlands and reef edges on metal jigs, trolled lures and floated pilchards. The main Cooktown Wharf has been loaded with massive bait schools that have attracted barramundi and big mangrove jacks along with numerous pelagic. The Daintree River has seen some nice grunter caught around the mouth and foreshore with fresh prawns and squid. Mangrove jacks have been active in the salt on cast lures and soft plastics.
