TB patient treated

A TORRES Strait islander is being treated at Cairns Hospital after becoming infected with tuberculosis (TB). Health authorities are now undertaking contact tracing to identify people in close contact with the patient. “People will then be tested for TB depending on their level of contact with the case,” a Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service spokesman said.
