Accolades just keep rolling in for dancer

- DANAELLA WIVELL

BALLET dancer Jade Wood isn’t letting a few awards get in the way of her training.

The former Cairns dancer is now a senior artist with the Australian Ballet with the 2018 Telstra Ballet Dancer Award and Telstra People’s Choice Award under her belt.

But despite winning the awards and $25,000 in prizemoney, the 27-year-old said she was still focused on furthering her career.

“I will save it (the prizemoney) for now and focus on setting myself up for the future,” she said.

“We are performing Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in Brisbane next year from February to March 2.”

Wood said she was grateful to be the fourth person to ever take out both the titles.

“Their support means so much to me and I’m honoured that they chose to vote for me out of such a talented bunch of nominees,” she said.
