CAIRNS TO TULLY

-

Spanish mackerel have been in good Johnstone numbers around River the islands and reef edges, on floated pilchards and live baits along with slow-trolled wolf herring. A few have also been caught on high speed metal jigs on the structure holding bait. Offshore a few dolphin fish and yellowfin tuna have been taken trolling skirted lures on the drop-off. River fishing has seen mangrove jacks taking lures in the Maria and Hull Rivers. The river mouths are producing nice grunter. Contact: The Tinnie Shack, Mission Beach, ph 4088 6125.
