HOME-GROUND advantage simply does not exist when it comes to clashes between the Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets. The away side has won four of the past five clashes but it is not a new trend. Newcastle will start Sunday afternoon’s clash with the Roar as $2 favourites with Ladbrokes. But that could be under the odds considering the Jets have won only four of their 19 home games against Brisbane at Hunter Stadium. It is not the only fixture in the ALeague this weekend where the visiting side has the edge over their rivals. The Western Sydney Wanderers have not beaten the Central Coast Mariners at home since 2016 and the away side has won four of the past six games played between the two rivals. However, the market suggests that streak will end this weekend. Western Sydney have been installed as $1.60 favourites and the Mariners are $5 to record their first victory of the season.
