The Federal Government is starting to understand the potential for major grid collapse due to the policy-forced penetration of renewables (CP, 20/12). If they really want to avoid chaos in Sydney and Melbourne they’ll need to cut the interconnectors to renewables “leader” SA. SA will whinge, but they’ve done it to themselves. Mic, Cairns

Beth (CP, 20/12). They put funeral notice in different states, towns etc as maybe the person was originally from there or lived there or have family and friends there. Simple really. Hope that helped you understand why. K, Cairns

Mick, Rocky Creek. Thanks for your weather report on wind. You do understand that energy can be stored and if the wind isn’t blowing, the sun will be shinning somewhere. The climate report released is further confirmation of global warming. We need renewable energy to reduce our carbon emissions. Sun and wind is delivered free to our door every day. John Pratt, Mooroobool

You are absolutely correct Senior Citizen, (CP, 20/12). The daily rants from these misguided and misinformed loudmouths are boring and, more importantly, nobody’s listening. Cathy, Kanimbla

What do you call a big jolly guy who delivers nothing? Warren Entsch. Lol. Jobsen Groath, Cairns

Comments by John Burns regarding the proposed “Global Tourism Hub “(CP, 19/12) are spot on. It is about time that our local elected representatives conveyed to Brisbane the feelings of the silent majority on this issue ie what we feel should happen rather than being told what must happen. Bob, Cairns City

On Brexit: (CP, 20/12) Germany’s leadership sees the EU as achieving by stealth what they couldn’t achieve by force in WWI and WWII - control of all Europe. This time Britain is full of traitors, so they maybe beyond saving. Miss T, Tolga

There’s already a male contraceptive (CP, 20/12) - a bloody great big pill. You put it in your boot and it makes you limp. Ray, Trinity
