Big clout for investors

Portfolio auction to open doors for locals

- PETER CARRUTHERS peter.carruthers@news.com.au

CAIRNS property investors will soon have access to the national buying and selling power of First National portfolio auctions.

Local First National Commercial operators David Forrest and Juliette Harper are excited about the opportunity Cairns owners will have to tap into a huge national investment market.

Ms Harper said there was not just one property type that lended itself to portfolio auct- ions. “Pretty much any price range will suit so long as the properties have good solid leases in place with strong tenants,” Ms Harper said.

First National Commercial has offices in 35 different regional centres across Australia.

It also has the added strength of the entire First National network and national portfolio auctions are a proven way of buying and selling through a local agency with national clout and broad exposure. The auctions are being held in Melbourne and will be scheduled for every second month with the first to be scheduled for 2019 being held on February 26.

Closing date for submissions will be January 25 and each auction will be limited to 15 properties nationally.

National commercial manager Jonathan Walls said there would be a diverse mix of affordable retail investments available.

“That will be marketed via our vast network of over 300 offices across Australia,” he said.

“The auctions will be conducted in Melbourne for a maximum of 15 investment properties, from across Australia, to a packed room of investors at the Grand Hyatt on Collins St, Melbourne.

“This is a huge operational network for marketing good regional assets.”

Ms Harper said portfolio auctions were not new, but this was a first time a local company had been able to offer the opportunity to commercial investment property owners in the Cairns region.

She said it also gave Cairns investors the opportunity to invest nationally across all property market spheres.
