Stab, choke charges laid
AN Innisfail man is facing strangulation and wounding charges after allegedly stabbing and choking a woman.
Cardwell police rushed to a Kennedy home about 3.30pm Sunday, where they found a woman in her 30s with stab wounds to her thigh and arm.
It is alleged that the kniferelated injures occurred the day before the assault.
It is further alleged that she and a man argued on January 11 and she was choked.
Police also allege that the woman was slapped and grabbed by the hair several times at the house before their arrival.
She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 41-year-old Innisfail man was charged with unlawful strangulation, wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.
