DAINTREE TO COOKTOWN

-

Over the calm weather, fishing was red hot on large mouth nannygai and coral trout on the inshore rubble off Cairns Reef. Offshore, good numbers of red emperor, big large mouth nannygai and spangled emperor. Spanish mackerel have been schooled up well on the reef edges and on the headlands like Cape Bedford where queenfish are also thick. The rivers are still dirty after the rain but should really fire up once they clean. Contact: Tackle World Cooktown ph. 4069 5396/Cooktown Barra Charters ph. 0408 036 887
