Chance to learn from Aussie hockey legend Knowles

-

The retired Kookaburras captain has agreed to spend the weekend sharing his knowledge and encouraging the young and emerging players as well as inspiring our Under-18 teams.

This year we are catering for all abilities and you can register at www.cairnshockey .com.au or call Cairns Hockey office at 4053 2308 to be part of this great opportunity.

Offering these opportunities supports the strengthening talent pathway programs designed to assist Cairns players, coaches and officials to represent Cairns and strive to be selected for Queensland and Australian teams.

Cairns Hockey currently has Jayden Atkinson and Matt Reichardt (both Brothers) representing Queensland and Phoebe Nixon (Trinity Stingers) representing Northern Territory at the Hockey Australia Under-18 National Championships, while Wesley Ferns (Cairns Hockey) is coach of the Queensland Under-15 Boys team which includes players Cade Coghlan (Brothers), Brayden Naess (Saints) and Jessee Folpp (Trinity Stingers).

Renee Barber, Sophie Gilligan (both Trinity Stingers) and Ruby McMenamin (Brothers) are playing for Under-15 Queensland Girls team.

Peter Seresini (Brothers) and Brett Borreson (Trinity Stingers) together with Haylee Brodin (Brothers) and Heather Morris (Souths) will soon depart to play for the Australian Country Hockey Team.

We have a lot to celebrate at Cairns Hockey with the official opening of the new $2.7 million facility upgrade on next Saturday from 6-7pm.

Although primary fixtures are cancelled, all turf fixtures will go ahead, fingers crossed.
