Never felt so incensed

-

I AM a self-funded retiree.

When planning for retirement, I and others in my situation acted on the best advice available at the time.

No one expected that term deposit interest rates would be a tad over two per cent and offer no real return after inflation. More importantly, no one expected that the Labor Party would arrogantly “move the goalposts” and confiscate our franking credits and put downward pressure on the value of our shares. Not fair.

Doesn’t meet the “pub test”, but, in retrospect, I should have anticipated this from a union-controlled socialist party of envy.

Labor’s proposed changes to franking credits and capital gains tax should also be of concern to younger generations.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money. We have told our kids not to expect any inheritance if Labor is elected and they should be prepared to pay higher taxes as we transition to the pension and other benefits.

I have never felt so incensed at the Labor Party since Whitlam in 1975.

Don’t vote Labor.
