Global warming

TREVOR, Park Ridge, asks Agnes, Mareeba, why “when thousands of climate scientists produce records proving global warming, you believe unqualified scientists?” (CP, 27/08). This deserves an answer.

First there are tens of thousands of highly qualified scientists that dispute that global warming is caused primarily by man-made carbon dioxide.

For example, 31,487 American scientists signed the Global Warming Petition Project, including 9029 with PhDs.

The petition noted that: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide … is causing catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere …”.

They also noted there is substantial evidence manmade carbon dioxide is beneficial to natural environments.

The primary driver of the global warming scare was stated at a news conference in 2015.

Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.
