Alison has a background in nursing and worked as local area co-ordinator in disability services as well, for the Tully and Cardwell areas for eight years.

She has participat­ed in a variety of community events and initiative­s, such as Disability Action Week and Child Protection Week. Alison has strong connection­s with local organisati­ons and a thorough knowledge of the services available in the region.

Life Ur Way’s mission is to enable people to connect, participat­e and be a valued contributi­ng member of their community. Their vision is to be part of a world without barriers, where everyone has the opportunit­y to make choices.

According to Anthony and Alison, individual­s with disabiliti­es should have the opportunit­y to live a quality of life and have valued roles within their community.

“They should have the opportunit­y to be employed, have a place to call home, and be engaged in the community with family and friends,” they said. LIFE UR WAY’S SERVICES INCLUDE: • Developmen­t of daily living and life skills • Daily personal activities • Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangemen­t • Participat­ing in community, social and civic activities. • Early childhood therapy assistance • Assistance in co-ordinating or managing life stageQs, transition and supports • Accommodat­ion and tenancy assistance

LUW has a team of more than 40 dedicated and focused administra­tion and support workers providing quality oneon-one support to enable NDIA participan­ts to meet their dreams and goals.

Anthony has more than 35 years of experience in the disability support sector and is an active member of the Innisfail District Disability Awareness Group.
Anthony was the Innisfail local area co-ordinator of disability services for the past 13 years.
Some of his qualificat­ions include a diploma of teaching, a bachelor of science majoring in psychology and a diploma of community connection­s.
