Just wondering if the bloke who was shot dead by police, because he was driving around shooting at people was legally in possession of the gun, eg licensed or unlicensed?

Re: $12 million hub being built in Townsville. Doesn’t the Bruce Hwy flood between Cairns & Townsville anymore? Dave, Cairns

The UK election coming up this weekend, really is for the future of the Commonwealth. While PM Boris is not the ideal candidate, he’s not conservative enough, he is a whole magnitude better than the crazy communist leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn! Those Poms better think long and hard before casting their vote, otherwise the old dart will not be the England that we have known for thousands of years. It will be Londonistan!

If true stories, written by Ion L Idriess The Tin Scratches, or Back O’Cairns or anything written about James Venture Mulligan were added to school curriculum, l am certain schoolchildren’s grades would greatly improve. If read by politicians, perhaps they better respect our native bush, wildlife & Indigenous peoples & not just respect the big end of town.

Really, George Babatsikos (CP, 07/12)? JCU predicted 47 degree days for Cairns? Nah, not gonna happen so don’t worry about it. If true it’s just a sign of how far off the reservation JCU has wandered. Higgs, Tolga

Great news to read about the super yachts that will be coming to Cairns. Now let’s make the owners and guests of these vessels more welcome by getting rid of the drunken itinerants who are such a disgrace around Cairns.

Re: driving habits. To all residents in Redlynch give your loved ones a big hug, a kiss and a cuddle because this Christmas the way you are driving around Redlynch a few of you won’t be here for NYE. Slow down.

Christmas is just around the corner and I would like to see a shift in focus this year to instead of buying loads of presents, that everyone makes the effort to donate to the people who have lost everything in the fires and spend time with loved ones. Relish those moments as we never know what is in store for us next year and not everyone will be around next Christmas. Beth, Kanimbla
