Move on from coal power

-

NATIONAL Party members Barnaby Joyce and Matt Canavan want to take our tax dollars away from education, health and pensions to build a new coal power station.

The banks won’t touch new coal power because renewable power with storage is cheaper to build and will give cheaper power bills in the long run.

The carbon emissions of coal power are causing extreme rainfall events, mega -fires, a progressively drier climate in southern Australia and higher insurance costs in North Queensland due to increased cyclone risks.

National MPs Joyce and Canavan should be thinking about all Australians and developing a fully-funded long-term strategy to support coal communities away from coal and pursue cheaper electricity production in renewables for a zero emission future.
